The night before Christmas and all through the house rang out sound of "Happy Birthday Wakayo" even from our mouse. Remember how blessed you are that you don't have the same birthday as my wife.

Does our government really know what's best for us?  They seem to be making more and more collectively bad decisions like this one:

No Crosses

You see in the news last week where the supreme
Court doesn't want any crosses on Federal

On Federal Property?

Well duh...
(Scroll Down)

Them try and remove these.

Are these people thinking?

What point do we say, enough  is

Messages just need to be forwarded and this is most certainly one of Them.

This is spitting on the graves of millions of men buried with honors for having made the ultimate sacrifice.

I don't care what your religion is.  I am not religious.  I don't believe there is any salvation in humanism nor religion of any type.

But, I am a strong believer that people without God do selfish things like this.

More importantly, we definitely don't have the money to carry out this stupid court order on all federal property.  Come on kids.  There are more important things to deal with here like the usurping of constitutional law with foreign laws.

Funding needs high -- Staffing

Hi gang,

I recommend cold calling lightly, but no other industry touches so many workers than one: Staffing.

I highly recommend getting introduced to staffing firms through your network.  You could use a simple email like this to ask your address book"

I am looking for referrals into staffing firms.  They are really feeling the credit crunch and are faced with not taking on more temp deals, or even laying off. We can fund them so they can grow and keep employing temps.

Financially, here's what is causing this as far as I can see.  Banks aren't able to sell their commercial loans off on secondary markets to keep their loan to deposits ratio.  In fact, regulators are asking banks to sell off good loans to get their ratios in balance.

So, good loans have assets against them.  Commercial loans to staffing firms have very little they can have as assets pledged against them.  Thus, the earliest loans to be capped or even terminated are such loans.

So, if a new staffing firm is looking for a commercial loan from a bank it is nearly impossible to get.  If an established staffing firm gets a call from the bank that their line has been reduced, capped or canceled, they have to figure something out very quickly.

So, if you can get introduced to the decision makers at small medium and even large firms, it would be a very helpful conversation.

If we can help staffing firms find temp jobs for those getting laid off, then we can do something to help the country through this crisis.

I approach each funding conversation with this kind of passion because it really is important for our economy to have as few layoffs as possible, and have those laid off re-employed as soon as possible.

We were talking with the owner of a staffing firm and his impression is that he is seeing much fewer permanent placements and a large increase in requests for contract or temporary placements.  The economics for this are simple.  The firms need bodies, but they cannot pledge year end budgets to large salaries.  When they contract to hire someone they actually get invoiced for labor done, then wait 30-60-90 days before they pay the temp firm.  This staffing firm is essentially funding their clients who are taking advantage of the time value of money.  Unless these staffing firms have lots of cash reserves, there is an upper limit to the number of contracts they can handle.

This firm actually had a line for $100K and had maxed that out, so they couldn't tap that for more cash to payroll their clients.  In this case, the solution is to get the silent partner to pay off that loan to free up the firm's accounts receivable for factoring so that the managing partner could accelerate growth and thus accelerate pay-down of the silent partner's loan to pay off the $100k.  This way, the managing partner gets the albatross of a liability off their neck and empowers the firm to grow as fast as they can take on contract work.  They then factor the a/r and make their 30 day nut, and they don't have to worry about how long their new contract clients take to pay.  This way they can turn their dollar quicker and capture the market.

For firms that are growing this is a perfect solution.  For firms that wouldn't grow one iota in a year, it may not be.

So, ask your network who they know in staffing they can introduce you to.  Then, let's all roll up our sleeves and cold-call on some if we have to in order to make a difference for our economy.

Fwd: The Sack Lunches - Veterans Day

I had to share this from my friend Ron Acker

The Sack Lunches
I put my carry-on in the luggage compartment and sat down in my assigned
seat. It was going to be a long flight. 'I'm glad I have a good book to
read. Perhaps I will get a short nap,' I thought.

Just before take-off, a line of soldiers came down the aisle and filled
all the vacant seats, totally surrounding me. I decided to start a
conversation. 'Where are you headed?' I asked the soldier seated
nearest to me. ' Chicago - to Great Lakes Base. We'll be there for two
weeks for special training, and then we're being deployed to Iraq '

After flying for about an hour, an announcement was made that sack
lunches were available for five dollars. It would be several hours
before we reached Chicago, and I quickly decided a lunch would help pass
the time. As I reached for my wallet, I overheard soldier ask his buddy
if he planned to buy lunch. 'No, that seems like a lot of money for
just a sack lunch. Probably wouldn't be worth five bucks. I'll wait
till we get to Chicago ' His friend agreed.

I looked around at the other soldiers. None were buying lunch. I
walked to the back of the plane and handed the flight attendant a fifty
dollar bill. 'Take a lunch to all those soldiers.' She grabbed my arms
and squeezed tightly. Her eyes wet with tears, she thanked me. 'My son
was a soldi er in Iraq ; it's almost like you are doing it for him.'

Picking up ten sacks, she headed up the aisle to where the soldiers were
seated. She stopped at my seat and asked, 'Which do you like best -
beef or chicken?' 'Chicken,' I replied, wondering why she asked. She
turned and went to the front of plane, returning a minute later with a
dinner plate from first class. 'This is your thanks.'

After we finished eating, I went again to the back of the plane, heading
for the rest room. A man stopped me. 'I saw what you did. I want to
be part of it. Here, take this.' He handed me twenty-five dollars.

Soon after I returned to my seat, I saw the Flight Captain coming down
the aisle, looking at the aisle numbers as he walked, I hoped he was not
looking for me, but noticed he was looking at the numbers only on my
side of the plane. When he got to my row he stopped, smiled, held out
his hand, an said, 'I want to shake your hand.' Qu ickly unfastening my
seatbelt I stood and took the Captain's hand. With a booming voice he
said, 'I was a soldier and I was a military pilot. Once, someone bought
me a lunch. It was an act of kindness I never forgot.' I was
embarrassed when applause was heard from all of the passengers.

Later I walked to the front of the plane so I could stretch my legs. A
man who was seated about six rows in front of me reached out his hand,
wanting to shake mine. He left another twenty-five dollars in my palm.

When we landed in Chicago I gathered my belongings and started to
deplane. Waiting just inside the airplane door was a man who stopped
me, put something in my shirt pocket, turned, and walked away without
saying a word. Another twenty-five dollars!

Upon entering the terminal, I saw the soldiers gathering for their trip
to the base. I walked over to them and handed them seventy-five
dollars. 'It will take you some time to re ach the base. It will be
about time for a sandwich. God Bless You.'

Ten young men left that flight feeling the love and respect of their
fellow travelers. As I walked briskly to my car, I whispered a prayer
for their safe return. These soldiers were giving their all for our
country. I could only give them a couple of meals. It seemed so

A veteran is someone who, at one point in his life wrote a blank check
Made payable to 'The United States of America ' for an amount of 'up to
and including my life.' That is Honor, and there are way too many people
in This country who no longer understand it.'

Recession turn depression ahead

Now that the next four years has been determined, the right question for investors and entrepreneurs alike should be:

How can we encourage more entrepreneurs to start companies during a depression?

In a depression we will have less money available to lend to new commercial endeavors that we have in the last 50 years.  It hasn't been easy up to this point, so that is saying a huge thing.

Now, the self-sustaining method to start successful businesses will be the only real way to bootstrap a company.

Make History Tomorrow

My Friend,

From the time I entered the Naval Academy at age seventeen I have been privileged and honored to serve my country.

Vote Throughout my years of service, I've been faced with challenges where I could have taken the easy way out and given up. But I'm an American and I never give up. Instead, I choose to show courage and stand up and fight for the country I love. Today, I am asking you to stand with me and to fight for our country's future.

Our country faces enormous challenges and our next president must be ready to lead on day one. My lifetime of experience has prepared me to lead our great nation. I'm prepared to bring solutions to our economic challenges, bring our troops home in victory and improve our nation's healthcare system.

Time and time again, my country has saved my life and I owe her more than she has ever owed me. I have chosen to show my gratitude through a life of service to our country and tomorrow, you will have a choice before you.

I humbly ask you to make the choice that will allow me to serve my country a little while longer by casting your vote to elect me as your next President of the United States.

Finally, I ask that you never forget that much has been sacrificed to protect our right to vote. We must never forget those Americans who, with their courage, with their sacrifice, and with their lives, have protected our freedom. It is my great hope that you will exercise your right to vote as an American tomorrow.

I thank you for your kind support, your dedication to our cause, and most importantly I thank you for your vote.

With sincere appreciation,

John McCain

A Summation

Something to think about: we laugh, but others really think this?

I'm voting Democrat because I'm way too irresponsible to own a gun, and I know that my local police are all I need to protect me from murderers and thieves.
I'm voting Democrat because I love the fact that I can now marry  whatever I want. I've decided to marry my Cub.
I'm voting Democrat because I believe oil companies' profits of 4% on a gallon of gas are obscene but the government taxing the same gallon of gas at 15% isn't.
I'm voting Democrat because I believe the government will do a  better job of spending the money I earn than I would.
I'm voting Democrat because freedom of speech is fine as long as nobody is offended by it.
I'm voting Democrat because when we pull out of Iraq I trust that the bad guys will stop what they're doing because they now think we're good people.
I'm voting Democrat because I believe that people who can't tell us if it will rain on Friday CAN tell us that the polar ice caps will melt away in ten years if I don't start driving a Prius.
I'm voting Democrat because I'm not concerned about the slaughter of millions of babies so long as we keep all death row inmates alive.
I'm voting Democrat because I believe that business should not be allowed to make profits for themselves. They need to break even and give the rest away to the government for redistribution as THEY see fit.
I'm voting Democrat because I believe liberal judges need to rewrite the Constitution every few days to suit some fringe kooks who would NEVER get their agendas past the voters.
'A Liberal is a person who will give away everything they don't own'

From the Augusta Chronicle...please send to everyone you know who works for a living.
The real American Dream is to build a successful business NOT be given money stolen from someone else for political gains.

Ecology and politics

I like most of my generation are disgusted with Washington and both candidates for president in general.  I have voted Republican mostly because I don't want Mr. "I love Europe and Terrorists more than America" to get into office and spend out country into a deep depression.

What I cannot stand is that driving a Prius and being ecologically minded somehow makes me automatically in that liberal's camp.

In fact, I believe that just like the fact that the media has missed most of my disenfranchised generation, noone understands that we are all about ecology without having to be liberal in our politics.  In fact, it is my opinion that there are many conservatives who are also excited about electric vehicles and saving the planet in my generation.  I would bet that the only reason we don't hear about that is because my generation is the bust generation and is so small that noone cares about us.  In fact, maybe that is why we are disenfranchised because noone does care what we think.

Well, this generation is next, small or not.  If the country survives the next four years, then we might see a group of angry buster generation "kids" like me raise up and get angry about the pork, the politics as usual, the  "how I see it" not how it is status quo.  We are sick of it Washington. You are shaming out country.

If Washington doesn't clean up and stop playing the same old games, I am sure that Biden was right and something bad will happen.  So, get some cahones and make the change now instead of having to fix it later.

McCain is a racist!

The media went crazy when people questioned Barack Obama's friendships---they defended their savior and said it's a distraction from the issues--yadda yadda yadda. They, for the most part, ignored Obama's shady friends, but when it comes to John McCain's great, great, great, great, great, great grandfather (what's that, like 489 AD?) who owned a slave. Of course that is front page news!

Obama and Iranian Caviar

Obama is out there as the champion of the average Joe and he knows what you are going through and he so bravely is willing to pay more taxes (as he said during the debate) because he's fighting for you! So it must have been a mistake when he and his wife ordered some Iranian caviar while staying at the Waldorf Astoria, right? Read the transcript. Insiders listen here.

It's an abortion Friday!

Abortion came up as a topic during the last debate and Obama flat out lied about his vote from when he was a State Senator in Illinois. Professor Robert George from Princeton University joined Glenn today to explain why Obama's abortion stance is one of the farthest left he's ever heard. Check out their conversation and read this article by Professor George which has one of the best explanations of why the 'pro choice' label is one of the biggest political spins of all time. Read the transcript. Insiders listen here.

Can McCain Win?

Glenn spoke with pollster Scott Rasmussen about McCain's chances on November 4th, and the Bradley effect -- what is it and will it impact this race? Read the transcript. Insiders listen here.

Entertaining clip of the day

The media has called Sarah Palin an idiot since she was announced as McCain's VP choice. The media has largely ignored Joe Biden (hmm, possibly because he's a ticking campaign killing time bomb?), so it's possible many people may not have seen this latest gaffe from Biden. While any rational human being would admit that this is just a silly mistake, just imagine if Sarah Palin or George W. Bush would have made this mistake. Watch the video. Enjoy!

Glenn's new gig

As reported on the Drudgereport yesterday, Glenn has indeed made the decision to leave CNN and continue his television career at Fox News. While Glenn is very excited about working with everyone at Fox---he will equally miss working with the many wonderful people from CNN. Get the details.

Fwd: Judge McCorkle

This was forwarded to me and I wanted to make sure you got to see it too.

Dear Friends,

Early voting starts today.  Attached you will find a list of the early voting locations for Harris County, Texas.  I hope this makes it easier for you to get out and vote!

As you consider whom to vote for I want to share some facts about a Judge running for reelection in the 133rd Judicial District.

Some facts about a judge seeking reelection: Judge Lamar McCorkle

My company filed a solid lawsuit  against a company for fraud.

The case came to trial in 2002 before Judge Lamar McCorkle. The trial lasted for three days.
Judge McCorkle never ruled on the case.

After the first year, our attorneys  requested a hearing, demanding that a decision be rendered.  At that hearing Judge McCorkle told our attorneys that he could not render a decision because he had lost all the files.

Two years after the trial, the plaintiff (my company) and the defendant made an outside settlement agreement.  My firm spent unbelievable legal fees keeping the attorneys engaged simply because this judge would not judge.

Going in to the trial my attorneys from Bracewell told me that McCorkle was notorious for NOT ruling because he did not want his decisions overturned on appeal.

What kind of job allows you to get paid for NOT doing your job?  I am a lifelong card-carrying contributing Republican and I will once again vote against this man whom I believe has his Judicial position solely because he is riding the coat tails of the Republican majority in our area.

Please vote against Lamar McCorkle.  Let's judge his performance and send him out into the real world to earn a living.

We need a fearless leader like this:

If this is true, let's run this man for President of the USA!

Wouldn't it be nice if our fearless leaders would have the same guts as this leader!

America Needs A Leader Like This!

Prime Minister John Howard - Australia

Muslims who want to live under Islamic Sharia law were told on Wednesday to get out of Australia , as the government targeted radicals in a bid to head off potential terror attacks.

Separately, Howard angered some Australian Muslims on Wednesday by saying he supported spy agencies monitoring the nation's mosques. Quote: ' IMMIGRANTS, NOT AUSTRALIANS, MUST ADAPT. Take It Or Leave It. I am tired of this nation worrying about whether we are offending some individual or their culture. Since the terrorist attacks on Bali , we have experienced a surge in patriotism by the majority of Australians.'

' This culture has been developed over two centuries of struggles, trials and victories by millions of men and women who have sought freedom'

' We speak mainly ENGLISH, not Spanish, Lebanese, Arabic, Chinese, Japanese, Russian, or any other language. Therefore, if you wish to become part of our society . Learn the language!'

' Most Australians believe in God. This is not some Christian, right wing, political push, but a fact, because Christian men and women, on Christian principles, founded this nation, and this is clearly documented. It is certainly appropriate to display it on the walls of our schools. If God offends you, then I suggest you consider another part of the world as your new home, because God is part of our culture.'

' We will accept your beliefs, and will not question why. All we ask is that you accept ours, and live in harmony and peaceful enjoyment with us.'

' This is OUR COUNTRY, OUR LAND, and OUR LIFESTYLE, and we will allow you every opportunity to enjoy all this. But once you are done complaining, whining, and griping about Our Flag, Our Pledge, Our Christian beliefs, or Our Way of Life, I highly encourage you take advantage of one other great Australian freedom, ' THE RIGHT TO LEAVE'.'

' If you aren't happy here then LEAVE. We didn't force you to come here. You asked to be here. So accept the country YOU accepted.'

Maybe if we circulate this amongst ourselves, American citizens will find the backbone to start speaking and voicing the same truths.

Eric Standlee

I sacrificed my life for this country.
You don't like it? Leave!
That includes you Obama.
