Monday Sales Tip or Life Application?

Thanks John Pyke for this tidbit.

---------- Forwarded message ----------

This week I would like to take a little bit of a different angle for the sales tip.  The inspiration for this came to me last Thursday from an outstanding Mindset call by Debbie Lantz entitled, "Avoiding the Snares of Success."

According to research, the number one reason why senior executives derail is ego.   I submit to you that we all significantly limit our success if pride enters the picture.  One definition of ego is, "an inflated feeling of pride in your superiority to others."

What does Scripture say?

James 4:6  "God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble."

Prov 16:5  "The Lord detests all the proud of heart.  Be sure of this, they will not go unpunished."

Prov 18:12  "Before his downfall a man's heart is proud but humility comes before honor."

I Cor 13:4  " Love is patient, love is kind.  It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud."

I Pet 5:5  "Clothe yourselves with humility toward one another because God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble."

I ask you, where is your focus?  Your wants, your needs or on others?   Zig Ziglar is famous for saying, "When you help enough people get what they want, you will always have what you want."

This week as you abide in Him, may your confidence come from Him.  May your humility and your sincerity to help others shine brightly.  May people be refreshed and awakened by your presence.

Ask great questions, listen carefully to what they say and enthusiastically apply how AC can make a difference in realizing their goals.

Make a difference today!

Fwd: Google Apps Status Alert: Maintenance upgrade for Google Calendar on April 26th

If you use Google Calendar, then before Thursday, you will want to go to mozilla.org and download their free calendar application in either SeaMonkey or SunBird.  If you use Mac, then just use the iCal.

When you have that application installed and running, go to your calendar.google.com and click on settings, then calendars, then your main calendar.  Then at the bottom of the Calendar Details page there is a private address.

Right mouse copy link location the "iCal" icon in the private address area and then go to your running calendar applicaiton (sunbird, seamonkey, or mac's ical). and in the left panel right click and chose subscribe and paste the ical link you just copied into the Calendar Url field and save.  This should subscribe you to your google calendar so that you can use it while calendar.google.com is down.

Then when calendar.google.com comes back up better than ever, you can resync from your calendar application back to your calendar.google.com calendar.

If you want to share your private link with me because you normally share your calendar, that would be fine...  Just an idea.

This is the best way to backup your calendar from calendar.google.com for future reference.

Urgent - Please read and respond before deadline

Take action and pass this on to everyone you know who takes vitamins.

Eric

Urgent! This is not a joke or e-mail legend.  If you do not act on this you may never be able to get any nutritional products again unless your doctor prescribes them. And we know two things about that:

Most, but certainly not all doctors, have virtually NO training regarding nutritional supplements.

Once the product comes from a drug company instead of a nutritional company the price skyrockets immediately.

If you have EVER bought anything (natural health product) over the counter, on line, phone, or thru a distributor the FDA is planning to put a stop to this.

Please, Please
respond to the URL listed below & help us stop the FDA-again!

There is a CRISIS in HEALTH FREEDOM!!  On April 30, 2007 the FDA will
close the public comment period on a 'Guidance' which will classify
EVERY alternative practice as medicine so that only licensed physicians
can carry out the procedure AND vitamins, minerals, herbs, etc., will
suddenly become 'untested drugs' which WILL BE FORBIDDEN!

Bad?  Real Bad!  But public outcry can stop this assault on your health
and your freedom.

Spread the word!  Tell everyone in your Circle of Influence,
professionals, alternative practitioners, nutrient and herb companies,
everyone!  Let them know how important their participation is to make
sure the FDA backs off from this repressive course.

Please share this link with them and urge them to take action:

The letter to the government is already written, all you need to do to send it is to go here:

Sacred Cow Dung: Do You REALLY Want to be a Microsoft Guinea Pig AGAIN? | Vista and Office 2007 Beta 2 "Might Suck Less" - But This Time I'll Be Letting Others Find Out First

It is time to listen to the experts and stop being MS's guinea pig:

We are all familiar with pharmaceutical industry “package inserts” that list all sorts of scary-sounding terrible consequences which might result from the use of their products — no matter how unlikely. Software is no different. And using beta software certainly does not disappoint those who thrive on needless risks. No news here. However, I found Microsoft’s warning somewhat amusing —

... I Love You Too Daddy!

My youngest child, our daughter Yumi Joyce which means to bear the fruit of joy, often takes longer to respond or do things.  Today, I grabbed her and gave her a hug and like I often do I told her "I love you..."  You have to hear it to understand, but in that "I love you..." there is an understanding that she will reply.  I had to tell her not once, not twice, and not three times, but four times before she grinned sheepishly and said "I love you too daddy!"

I was listening to a Zig Ziglar CD I got from having attended the Get Motivated seminar at the Toyota center several weeks ago here in Houston.  Actually, I received the CD from a friend who had grabbed several when we were there together.  In the CD, Zig made a point that of all the criminals in prisons a very very very small amount are Jewish.  He then explained that of the 95% of criminals which are men 99% of them hate their father.  And, he noted that the difference is that most Jewish fathers hold their sons and say "I bless you, I love you, you are important to me" throughout their lifetime.  He drew the correlation between that and the low rate of Jewish men being incarcerated.  Come to think of it, every Jewish man I know loves his father.

Now, imagine how many times during the day God told you "I Love you..." whether you realized it or not at first.  You have to know that He is saying that over every living soul on the planet today.  He is however speaking that over you right now Champion.  God is saying, "I love you..." and waiting for you to reciprocate.  Are you like my daughter and waiting for God to say it four times before you sheepishly say "...I love you too daddy!"?

God doesn't need our love, but He does want to hear us saying that we love Him.  Gratitude is a very essential part of a successful person's life.  Start practicing gratitude with your heavenly Father right now.  List out at least four or five things that God has done most recently to say "I love you Son, I love you Daughter" and then spend some time thanking him today.  No, right now.

Be blessed and have a blessed weekend,

Eric Standlee

Burn CDs on Mac Mini PPC

Burn

I downloaded and used this software on my Mac Mini PPC. Open Source Software ROCKS!

If you need to burn data or audio CDs with your Matsushita CD-RW which comes on the Mac Mini PPC then this program works.

The install was extremely easy and I ran the program, added the files/folders I wanted to burn to my data CD and viola! The thing, she is done, as they say.

Pass this around to other Mac users you know.

Gmail - Search results for: is:unread

Have you got tons of email in your gmail account? Is it hard to find that one email that you have amongst all of those emails? Do you need to search for an unread message?

"is:unread" is the term you want to add to your search. So, let's say you have a label (folder like thingy) called ABC and you want to read all of the unread emails in there. You could put this into your search box on gmail:
label:ABC is:unread

That will do it.

Cure Warts

Cure Warts: "Cure Warts"

Banana peels cure warts? What? With all of this medical technology? That's crazier than hydrogen-peroxide curing aids!

Try it. Then tell me what happened in the comments. My two daughters are trying it and I will report back. Better than paying to scrape or laze them off and then pouring formaldehyde on it. That is masochism. At worst you have a banana bandaid on your wart for a couple of weeks. At best it turns black and falls off and you now have a cheap way to remove future warts since HPV isn't currently curable.
