Your value is only as valuable as your network and your ability to connect them to each other.

If I go to a monthly networking lunch with you for a year an all you ever bring to the group is the same 100 people you know because you never meet anyone new, then your value to me is greatly diminished.

On the other hand, if you are constantly adding 5-20 new connections each and every day and have a system in place to sift those and meet some for coffee, then I know that in a year's time you'll be even more valuable to me.

If you are hunting for a job from behind that computer you're reading this from, then you aren't out networking and meeting new people.

But, MORE IMPORTANTLY if you aren't meeting new people you limit the number of people you can help. Just because I meet you doesn't mean I want to do business with you nor does it mean I like you. We have to have a 1 hour 1on1 over coffee first. I have to get to know you...

So, Connect with more every day.
